I love these, the blanket is a half wood, half textile! they are all by Elisa Strozyk who was originally born in Berlin and studied at Central Saint Martins.

it reminds me so much of a project ola bola was working on last year! hours and hours of folding paper on the mezzanine!

a friend was in search of where to find some gulal balloons seen here in Holi Festival in India.. this led me on to one of those internet searches and makes your heart pretty happy for 5:30am =). The colors are absolutely amazing, i'd be slightly nervous what color my camera would come out of a festival like this looking like! Either way lets go!

In my search there was also a lot of  warnings saying that now days a lot of the dyes are made from quite harmful chemicals BUT happily i also found a lot of sites promoting the use of turmeric power for yellow, soaked beetroot for deep pink and henna leaves for red!

i fall asleep in movies.. almost always. sometimes even in movies i really really want to watch, they just lull me straight to sleep. relaxation=sleeping. anyways, i can't wait for these movies to come out i could commit to drinking coffee before hand, giving myself a nice caffeine buzz to stay awake =)

on a fun note my old flatmate Brian made some of the glasses in the Dark Shadows film. He's such a lovely person I'm so excited to see him doing so well! he once took me on a tour of the glasses factory he works in that I had been trying to figure out was inside for years! can't wait to be back in hackney wick running into him and his lovely lady!!

i'm trying to teach myself sketch up... it's fairly easy but the lady in the youtube video speaks so quickly i have to pause and rewind about a 1000 times! i've only done about three of the videos.. my goal is to do all of them (there's probably also a 1000 of them too.. in 10 years I will be pro!!) i get distracted quite quickly and decided to make myself a little fort like the ones i've been drawing after seeing this wonderful photo of Victoria, BC's china town in the 1850's
! i need to build a ladder, and have the legs not hallow into the house so it will loose the title "hamster town" by hugo.
* updated: i added a bit more in the day Ariele Alasko's pretty wood building inspired my little siding.

many many many times when i see peoples work i love it think.. "OH MY GOSH! Can we be best friends? We'll have crafting parties and bake cookies and go thrift store shopping and make things that make us giggle like creepy masks, it'll be so great!" then i think.. wow slow down creepy stalker...  if only we were all in elementary school and this would be totally acceptable i would "WOW" them with my sticker collection and they would totally come to my costume birthday party. Basically Julia Pott would be one of the top of my creepy birthday party invitations.  Go to her website and her shop... there's unicorn and elephant tattoos.. hellllloooooo!

Ariele AlaskoCheck out this ladies website, she's making some beautiful things from reclaimed wood. It's nice to see other girls obsessed with power tools, but really these pieces are insanely pretty. Another reason to love love always love Design Sponge
